    The Alberni Valley Times was formed in 1967 from the amalgamation of two older newspapers, the earliest of which had served the community since 1919. Formerly known as the West Coast Advocate and Twin Cities Times, the daily publication was purchased by Glacier Media in 2011. The award-winning newspaper is published Monday to Friday, serving more than 11,000 homes in the Alberni Valley, including Bamfield, Tofino, Ucluelet and surrounding First Nations communities. The Times' circulation covers nearly 85 per cent of all homes in the Alberni Valley. The Times offers a wide variety of breaking news, hard news, soft news, community events and human interest stories, with a focus on issues that matter most to the residents of the Alberni Valley.
