The only reason why the review is 2 stars is based on their unique position of being the only partner with all of iTunes data, from conversions to iTunes registration data. The availability of insights and optimizations have been extremely limited for both full and sell service. Historically, I believe that they have gotten by on their high status of being an Apple company. However, many new mobile partners can do much more interesting things, which will lead to iAd needing to step up their game in order to maintain their client budgets

iAd can do some great, unique targeting because they are owned by Apple. They can demo target users based on iTunes registration data, which privides very accurate demo targeting across a massive audience. They run all in-app, which is OK and their performance is usually average. They can build some cool rich media, but all their creative options are based on templates, so it can be limiting. I would recommend using them, but there are really more intereting partners out there. I'd hope that iAd begin to offer much more cool unique products based on their direct integration with Apple.

Ever since they turned into a performance network, they've had trouble scaling and being able to stay competitive with so many other mobile UA channels when it comes to efficiency.
