    Art of Drink was spontaneously created in October 2005 as a way to document information on all things drink related. Darcy O'Neil had been bartending for a few years by this time and was unsatisfied with the drinks he was making and serving. This led him on a path of discovery, but having come from a scientific background, he felt he should document these things. Having fiddled with computers since 1979 (Sinclair ZX80) the Internet seemed like a natural place to put this collected knowledge. The first posts were simply about cocktails, their recipes and history. Eventually Darcy stated bringing in his chemistry skills and from that point there was no turning back. Art of Drink's readership rapidly grew from a couple of hits per day to more than 2200 readers daily. Currently Art of Drink is ranked among the top, if not the top, cocktail blogs on the Internet.
