With more than 2 million members, advertising is one of the most cost effective ways to do so. This helps us to retain current members, attract new ones and inform people about our product and service offerings. This can help members to grow their super savings and achieve a better income and lifestyle in retirement. Retaining members and pursuing growth allows us to achieve cost efficiencies that provide benefits to members. This includes keeping fees as low as possible so there is less money coming out of members’ accounts and more money accumulating in their retirement savings. And because we are a profit-to-member fund, we only exist to benefit and profit members. Our recent commercials All of the people featured in AustralianSuper television commercials are real members speaking in their own words about their own experiences. They are sharing what they perceive to be the benefits of having their super savings with AustralianSuper. AustralianSuper Kick Start In an effort to engage our young members and to help them get their retirement savings off to a good start we have once again launched “AustralianSuper Kick Start” with a telecast sponsorship of The Voice in 2014. The campaign has come to life with a competition to “kick start your career”, giving entrants a chance to win a career boosting experience of a lifetime with a trip to one of six destinations. This campaign allows us to engage young people in a relevant and meaningful way and to get them thinking about their futures. Kick Start Promotional TV Commercial This campaign won two Association of Superannuation Funds of Australian Communications awards. ASFA Communications 2012 Integrated campaign of the year ASFA Communications 2012 Best use of social media Lost Super Campaign Lost super is an $18 billion dollar problem in Australia, whereby many people lose track of their super savings when they change jobs, forgetting to combine super from previous accounts into their main account. This results in the multiple account balances getting whittled away by multiple sets of fees instead of the balances accumulating with interest and building a member’s retirement savings. AustralianSuper’s sole responsibility is to our members and in helping them to achieve their best possible income in retirement. With this in mind we tracked down lost super accounts for 390,000 of our members, worth over $1 billion. We ran a campaign to bring awareness to this issue and to encourage our members and the public to find and recover all of their lost super accounts and to combine them into their AustralianSuper account.
