About Us When I was aged around eight years old, I clearly remember my then teenage aunt and her girlfriends, dancing to Beatles song playing on radio. She and her friends were around eighteen or so at that time and very much part of the ‘Swinging Sixties” scene in London during a time the Beatles were never out of the news. I remember being really keen on their sound and went on to develop a deep love for Beatles music, which was fuelled by listening in to ‘pirate radio’ stations whenever I had the chance. I can recall receiving the vinyl 45 of “Hey Jude” as a birthday present on my 14th birthday. That particular song was released in 1970, at the back-end of the Beatles era, and is still one of my personal favorites. There are millions of Beatles fans like me, all around the world, with great memories of the Beatles era, which took place in a period of great social change and turmoil in many parts of the world, in particular with the ‘Cold War’ and Viet Nam. The Beatles were hugely popular on both sides of what was known as the ‘Iron Curtain’ and the Bamboo Curtain too! The Beatles and their music are not just about nostalgia and reminiscing about the past. Many of their recordings have a timeless quality and still sell very well today. Kids getting into music are going online to search for information about the Beatles. What has this got to do with an ‘about us’ page, I hear you ask? Well I am a Beatles fan through and through. This site is for Beatles fans of all ages, I hope you enjoy using it. Nuff said! - See more at: http://www.beatlesfansunite.com/about/#.U9YNSNIW008
