- Key DifferentiatorCWE aims to provide a forum for people living with epilepsy (both people with epilepsy and those who live with or care for people with epilepsy) to discuss epilepsy, seizures, medications, treatments and all aspects of living with and coping with the disorder. CWE is a free site. There is no cost for reading or participating in the forums, although registration is required for the forums to maintain the integrity of the sytem (free from spam, advertisements, trolls, etc.). Almost all forum "rooms" of the site are public and may be read by any visitors including search engines. There are a few "private" forums which only logged in members may see. These forums do not guarantee true privacy as CWE offers open registration, but it does prevent non-members and search engines from reading. The list of available public and private (must be logged in to see) forum rooms can be found here. CWE is owned and managed by a married couple, Stacy (who has epilepsy) and Bernard. Neither Stacy nor Bernard are medical professionals. Additional moderators for the discussion forums are volunteer members of the forum and receive no monetary compensation for their assistance in helping manage the forums in accordance with the forum guidelines. No member of the forum should be considered as a medical professional unless they are clearly identified (vetted by the site administrators) as such. This site does not dispense or publish medical advice. All published information, recommendations and opinions are offered for informational purposes only. Epilepsy patients, visitors and members are advised to discuss their care (and any information published on this site) with their own doctors. CWE does not accept or publish editorial content (also known as advertorials) from commercial interests (ie. advertisements do not influence site content). CWE is committed to disclosing full attribution for all published information derived from third parties.
