  • Key Differentiator
Frockwriter is a fashion news blog based out of Sydney. A quick headsup on me: I’m the Australian correspondent for WWD; have edited Australian fashion industry newspaper Ragtrader; been a gossip columnist for The Sun Herald and the fashion reporter for The Sydney Morning Herald, smh.com.au and news.com.au. I have also worked in mainstream television news and current affairs as a researcher, producer and reporter, working for broadcasters such as Seven Network, Nine Network, the ABC, CNN and Reuters Hong Kong. My blogging journey began in 2006 with a blog called Australian Fashion Week at smh.com.au. Launched as a popup specifically to cover that year’s Australian Fashion Week, the blog was relaunched in September that year to cover the Spring/Summer 2007 runway circuit, under a new name, Fashion Season. And then again in February 2007 to cover Fall/Winter 2007/2008. One of the very first blogs on the international show circuit, what fun we had. In August 2007 I moved across to news.com.au, with a new blog called Fully Chic. Launched on July 4 2008, Frockwriter was my first independent blogging venture and many of its stories have travelled far and wide. It has been dubbed “The scandalsheet for fashion’s stitch-and-bitch crowd” by The Australian; “The ultimate go-to for model twitchers” by The Vine; a “Model polymath” by The Fashion Spot - with no less than Malaysian prime minister Najib Razak once taking time out of his busy schedule as a true champion of press freedom to describe one of our posts as: “A wildly exaggerated story, deliberately fabricated to affect people’s perception of their leaders”.
