    During the summer of 2007, Gematsu founder and editor-in-chief Sal Romano founded a Blogger-hosted gaming blog called “onAXIS,” which launched with an aim to provide readers the latest news surrounding PlayStation platforms. The Blogger site was active for ten months before the Sal decided to take it to the next level and launched Scrawl in May 2008. Scrawl was the same concept, but this time independently-hosted and with a new engine under its hood. The following summer, Scrawl shifted from solely PlayStation 3 coverage to Xbox 360 coverage, as well, making for an high-definition gaming-based site. This attracted new readers, and gave the site a lot more to talk about. Over time, the site has grown to cover almost everything game-related. In May 2011, Scrawl transformed once more, becoming Gematsu. Today, Gematsu exists to provide readers with the latest news, previews, reviews, screenshots, videos, and articles in the current and next generation gaming world. We hope you love it. We do.
