IVHigh features the journalism efforts — writing, photography and video — of high school students throughout Imperial County, California. Under the mentorship and supervision of the Imperial Valley Press, both in the classroom and after school, high school students from the area's major campuses come together on a single app to let their peers, parents, educators and beyond know what is happening in their world.
Through traditional journalistic principles, fundamental lessons and new era social media techniques comes the creativity and fun of IVHigh. It all starts in the classroom, but ends up everywhere via IVHigh and IVHigh.com, its companion website. And, through permission of the leader in high school sports websites, each school's page leads to their sports information through MaxPreps.com.
Participating schools include Brawley Union High School, Calexico High School, Calipatria High School, Central Union High School, Holtville High School, Imperial High School, Southwest High School and Vincent Memorial High School.
