    About Me/Behind the name j’aime – to like or to love. (in French) Je t’aime – I love you. (also in French) Years ago, and I mean more than 15 years ago, I was asked by someone how to pronounce my name. I thought this was a little odd, and thought the guy was trying to flirt with me. (And, who knows? Maybe he was.) Little did I realize that j’aime is a French derivative of “love.” And the guy thought my parents spelled my name that way because of the French meaning. Really, though, my mom worked with a girl who spelled her name that way and she liked it. No fancy meaning. I have been trying to think of a shorter blog name for my little space, and one morning lovejaime popped into my head. It’s short, it’s sweet and it can mean so many things. So I stalked the name. It had been purchased, but expired in late 2011. When the registrars finally released it, I jumped on it. I’m a 30-something-year-old living in Asheville, NC, which I (and others) consider one of the coolest places to live. Married for over five years, and a homeowner for four years. We have a cat (Chloe) and I blog a lot about her. She’s pretty fabulous. We also have a toddler-boy. Sometimes I refer to him by name. For the longest time, we just referred to him as McLittle. I love music. And I craft a lot. Ceramics, sewing, scrapbooking, card-making. Whatever strikes me that day. I run for fun. Marathons. I may not be a fast runner, but I’ve completed five full marathons, and ten half marathons. I’ve run more 5ks than I can even try to recall. Welcome to my corner of the world.
