My name is Deborah and I'm the author and creator of My Life at Playtime. This is my online journal that documents not only my life, but my family's adventures, mishaps, struggles, and everything in between. I have a passion for photography which turned into a little side business a few years ago. I am also an esthetician among other things, an esthe-what? Esthetician. I went to beauty college right after high school to become licensed at facials, waxing, and the like. I still love it after all these years, and thus you will find an occasional 'skin' question/post on this little blog. about5.jpg This blog is filled with stories of my three kids, Gunnar, Sawyer and Greta. Photographs documenting their little lives and the travels we experience as a family. I have a weakness for house projects and 'do it yourself' items, I love clothing, flea markets, vintage treasures, food, and decor of all sorts. I love throwing parties, reading books, and of course Instagram-ing. There are categories listed on my sidebar that will take you to the posts having to do with each subject. This space is a little of this and a little of that, which is very reflective of me as an individual. about2.jpg I'm born and raised in Southern California. I've been married to Aaron for over 13 years. He's the handyman behind this operation. He is the one with the hammer and the nails which brings my treehouse fort vision to fruition, and helps me learn code for this little website. We met in 1998 at Lincoln Center in New York City. After marrying, I moved to New York to join him and we lived there until we were expecting our first little person, Gunnar. While pregnant with Gunnar we returned to my hometown, Los Angeles, and have remained here ever since. Aaron is my greatest fan and supporter, he is the push that I need for any new venture I take on. I am not one for change, and so he is the spark that gets the fire lit beneath me to go after what I want, and accomplish my goals. A few years ago he pushed me to start my own business and become the owner of my own spa. No idea is a bad idea to Aaron, and I constantly strive to be a better person because of him. about3.jpg about4.jpg This is the fourth year for this blog of mine, and I don't see that I will be stopping anytime soon. I love comments from all my readers, but please be kind, I may be tough as nails on the outside, but sometimes I can be mush on the inside. I love sharing my favorite blogs with my readers, so feel free to head over to the Favorite Places page and visit all the sites I find so inspiring. I hope you leave this site of mine feeling that I am quite honest and realistic, I share the good right along with the bad. If I find something great and amazing, I can't wait to share it with all my readers on here. I find this community to be so inspiring to me as an individual, mother, wife, sister, daughter, and friend.
