The National Rap Portal emerged from the initiative of William Domingues de Souza, the Mandrake . In 2000 he realized the lack of spaces for outreach events and Rap groups and to strengthen the National Rap, Mandrake set out to create a site where groups, especially those who were beginning, could promote their songs. The proposal included make available the schedule of shows that would happen and make photo coverage of events.

Fourteen years have passed and the National Rap Portal took proportions that Mandrake himself could not imagine when you created the site. Today the portal is Hip-Hop's communication the most important vehicle in Brazil and currently, not only new groups disclose their work on the Portal, but also groups already established. What it is important for the public, since it is through this portal that they learn all the news of Rap.

In these 14 years of existence many people passed through the site, were employees, columnists, advertisers, among many other partners. Each contributed in their own way. Difficulties were also many, lack of money to buy equipment, lack of driving to get to the events, lack of time ... But the difficulties were never greater than the certainty that the Portal is a great tool for the sake of strengthening the National Rap .
