Welcome to NeighborFood! I’m so glad you’re here. I’m Courtney, a 20-something wife, community organizer, and self-taught baker. I live with the Mr., Will, in Columbus, OH….which just so happens to be the greatest city in the world. And no, I’m not biased. That’s us! (We kind of like each other). I believe food tastes better when it’s shared. This blog is my table, and you’re all invited to grab a seat and make yourself at home. Here you’ll find real food made by a real person. I believe in using pure, glorious butter and the best local fruits and veggies I can find. I believe in lingering over dessert and getting geeked over a perfectly roasted head of broccoli. I believe in being adventurous in the kitchen, and occasionally paying the price with a big, fat fail. I’m learning as I go, and inviting you along for the ride. So c’mon. Let’s cozy up around a plate of slow cooked pot roast. We’ll bump elbows, clink glasses, give thanks, laugh it up. The cake may be crooked, but I promise it’ll be delicious. I absolutely love hearing from my readers. Feel free to shoot me an email at neighborfoodblog(at)gmail(dot)com if you have questions or ideas, or if you just want to tell me about your latest binge-watch of Parenthood. I’m here, and I understand. You can also connect with me on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or Pinterest. P.S. I have ALL THE THOUGHTS on loving Jesus, doing justice, and finding community at our kitchen tables–far too many to include in this post. But if you’d like to find out more, you can read this post or spend some time looking through the Leftovers tab of the blog. Still want to learn more? Here are some logistics: I shoot with a Nikon D3000 and use Lightroom for all my editing. This blog is powered by WordPress, the Thesis theme, the incredible Keo of KK Designs, my awesome hubby’s web expertise, and a whole lot of love and sugar. I enjoy Chai Tea Lattes. I have an unhealthy relationship with Cafe Katalina’s Pork and Fried Egg Sandwich. I love to sing, but can’t whistle to save my life. I like to be serenaded by Frank Sinatra while I’m baking. I’m a terrible dancer (but I do it anyway). We have a forever-pup named Oscar. He sulks when we don’t pay enough attention to him, AKA we don’t acknowledge him for more than 5 minutes (see below). He’s our favorite source of entertainment, and also occasionally our not-so-favorite source of smelly vomit. This guy is my willing taste tester, lobster lover, honest feedback giver, website crisis averter, dish dryer, and favorite person of all time. I’m a Buckeye, through and through. Excuse me for a second….O-H!… I like you. Thanks for stopping by and welcome to Neighborfood!
