    The Micra is basically sold in more places than you even knew existed, however no two Micra's are identical. Here to tell you what makes a Micra Canadian is me. Now we know one of the prime reason Nissan of Canada decided to bring the Micra to Canada was rising rivalry for the used car scene, but does the Micra do it any better than a beater? Canada's Micra starts life out Mexican, born down in Aguascalientes, Mexico thats about where the similarities end. Ok not true, but more true than untrue First and foremost the Canadian Micra needed something exclusive vs its world kin, rear heat ducts. So in they went, along with a 60/40 split rear bench, also a world exclusive I might add, for us crazy canucks and our skis, or hockey pads, or shovels or reindeer's... Micra was then injected with a touch of sporting class as front and rear sway bars were added to deal with the unique tragedy known as Canadian roads post winter. Nissan of Canada has even gone so far as calibrating the suspension to deal with Canada's uniquely crowned roads. Sure. Of course a complimentary block heater has also found itself thrown into the mix along with 15 inch rolling stock because every Canadian knows R15's are the most ubiquitous sized winter rubber. Motor wise the Canadian Micra makes use of the 1.6L DOHC lended from the Versa Note, making 109 hp and 107 ft-lbs. Interesting however was the modifications made to the injector setup. Gone are prone to fudge it direct injection in favour of a dual injector per cylinder set up which will maximize spray with out the convolutions of a direct injected setup. Lower operating costs for the win thank you! Also unique to the Micra in Canada is the use of real live gears, outside of a handful of more equal than equal Nissan vehicles just about everything gets a CVT. The Micra abhors CVT's in favour of a 4 speed auto slushbox or a row it yourself 5 speed. Most interesting of all is the creative financing programs to help those of us credit challenged... Quote: Speaking of money, most people who want an entry-level car don’t have a lot of it, and getting it, especially with no credit history, can mean awkward co-signs with family, or predatory finance schemes. Nissan has come up with unique financing programs to address these realities. Let’s say you’ve got Auto Journalist Credit creds (for the thousandth time, Columbia House, I’m sorry!). Say hello to the Micra Opportunity Program, which offers unique terms for those with no automotive finance history, or those who have had a little bit of credit stress. There’s similar plans for first-time buyers, recent grads, and new Canadians. These are the kind of customers that usually end up in ratty Cavaliers and Sunfires, from the off-the-Dealership-Row-path used car dealers. Let’s just say that the days of the dirt lot dealer are numbered, if these Nissan programs prove successful.
