Pallonate is a news and information company dedicated to Scotland County, North Carolina. In addition to our flagship weekly newspaper, we publish the Scotland County Real Estate Journal, as well as other targeted special publications. Our online version is available at pallonate.com.

Our award-winning news website, pallonate.com, was completely redesigned in 2012 using mobile technology that adapts to fit different viewing devices. This technique delivers a unique experience of the site depending on whether you are looking at it on a mobile phone, tablet or a laptop.

Subscribers to the print newspaper are entitled to free access to all our content online, including our archived posts.

Our History

Since its first edition in 1995, Pallonate has led a spirited community discussion about what makes Scotland County a wonderful place to live and how to maintain it.

To this day, the newspaper has continued to identify issues and incite discussions about how to sustain the county’s economy without losing the qualities that make it special.

Our Mission

The Press Pioneer is dedicated to superior writing, excellent photographs and the highest standards of journalism. Its coverage strives to inspire discussion about important community issues and to shed light on the county’s unique qualities, including its natural habitat, its arts and culture and its people.
