Thank you so much for stopping by Pinegate Road. I try to say thank you as much as possible since I make a living designing stationery, but in all honesty, I’m so glad you’re here. Pinegate Road is first and foremost about process. It’s about my personal process navigating a creative life, other’s process on design and inspired living, and the process of us all figuring out how to live our happiest lives one step at a time. This blog began in 2011 when I was working towards my MFA at the Savannah College of Art and Design. While I loved what I was doing down in Georgia, somewhere along that first year I forgot how to let my passions loose. Amongst all that design theory it was hard to justify DIY projects and sketching for fun — fun in general, really. After following blogs for years, I decided that I was going to make it happen and see if blogging could give me that creative outlet I knew I needed. You might be able to guess how that panned out. I am now happily residing in Lakewood, Ohio where I’m experiencing my first snow-filled winter in over three years! Beyond my day job designing stationery at American Greetings, I spend time indulging in my passions for hand-lettering and branding. Sometimes those two mix and it makes me all sorts of happy. My background lends itself to hands-on design and an if-you-can-dream-it-we-can-do-it attitude. If you think we might be a pair, let’s chat!
