Typically if you visit the about us section of any site it is either to: Satisfy yourself that the site is run by people you identify with. Do some research before calling to sell something. If you fall into the first group then you are a rafter, want to be a rafter or are kindly doing some research for your partner who is too busy rafting to do it themselves….. Either way you want to know that the site is run by paddlers, owned by paddlers and that we can’t answer your call right now because we are too busy rafting…. If you fall into group 2 please note we can’t answer your call right now as we are out rafting. It would be easy to say that the site is owned and run by paddlers, that we live and breath rafting, but that’s not true. The truth RaftingHolidays.com is part of the AWE365.com which is a network of 18 sites about different adventure sports ranging from rafting to skydiving and mountain biking to scuba diving. It is owned and run by Luke and Nathan who are 2 guys in their mid (or late according to my wife) 30′s. Are we into all 18 sports? No. We barely have time to do 3 of them on a regular basis and 3 or 4 others on an irregular basis… Are we passionate about adventure sports? Instead we work with paddlers to write our content, in most cases they make their living from the sport. This means the site is infused with passion for rafting and laden with useful tips by raft experts. So what do Luke and Nathan do? While the writers are out rafting, testing gear, teaching others to raft and generally too busy to run websites we keep the 18 sites running and answer those dreaded sales calls…. (Please note this is not a promise to answer sales calls! We may not be paddlers but are into our adventure sports – in my case I may be trying to negotiate logs on my mountain bike, trekking up a mountain or trying to find some powder to shred.)
