Worst update

I love my redflag news app, well I DID love it. The latest version is horrible! Constant ads and you have to tap, tap, tap to read one (1) full and complete story. Then when you finally think you have the full story loaded, it's not, so you wait... And wait... And the app crashes! Reopen the app, scroll till you re-find that certain story, and tap, tap, tap and close ads in between tapping, think your full and complete story will finally load, but again it isn't, so again you wait, and wait, all the while chanting to yourself 'please don't crash again, please don't crash again', only to have the app crash again! What's the point of a news app when you cannot read the entire article? I paid for the app way back because I loved it. This? This I despise! If redflag refuses to go back to the older, tried and true version of their app I'll just be forced to delete it. Why, oh why would you change an app so completely when it's just fine the way it is and is so very popular? For money? I know it takes money but couldn't you just include your $1.00 monthly fee into the old, better format of your app? I would have gladly paid $1.00 a month just to keep that format. But this? THIS?? Just so you could force a bunch of ads to try to force us, your loyal customer base, to force our hands into paying to remove the ads- that's totally and completely wrong. The app is junk now, and NOW you want us to pay? You should have just asked us to pay with the version of the app that we liked, enjoyed and could actually use! But I believe, if I remember correctly, you said you would never charge for redflag. So this way, your not actually charging us, we have to 'opt' out of ads and pay for the privilege. Your STILL charging for something you claimed would remain free. We bought your app because we liked it. Now we have to pay again, to support it and keep it alive- fine. But don't completely change the app, breaking the app in the process and then expect us to pay. Say goodbye to your supporting, PAYING base until you give us back the previous app version that we all came to love and that actually worked! I hope and pray redflag comes to their senses, and soon!

Worst version ever!!

Tired of all the ads coming up as I am reading a story. It's not 1 or 2 ads but multiple ads that find me back on the homepage and having to close the app. Sorry guys but complete garbage. Shouldn't have updated.

Red flag news

Don't like the new version. Old was better. Why did you screw with something that worked?

I'll give it a chance

I got what I paid for, free. Need to disable auto video loading and starting. RSS feeds are few or none in most topics I like. Do I have to pay more? I am one who does not mind pop up ads if the app is free and worth it. Unlike watching TV you can usually skip the ads in an app. But I haven't seen an ad yet. App has some good and some bad things about it. Most were covered in previous reviews. I'm sticking with it for now, hoping to get some news that is Right.

Meh

The pop-up ads are annoying and dominate the bottom of every page, and the top of (I guess you'd call it a homepage). If you go to a story from an alert, the links to read more of the story don't work right unless you back out to the homepage and start over by finding the story from there. There doesn't seem to be any tangible reason to earn badges or points, or have any friends. I was really hoping the app would be more.

Secure the data your app manages. Protect information and control access to your app.
AVFoundation
The AV Foundation framework provides an Objective-C interface for managing and playing audio-visual media in iOS and OS X applications.
Core Foundation Framework
Core Foundation is a framework that provides fundamental software services useful to application services, application environments, and to applications themselves. Core Foundation also provides abstractions for common data types, facilitates internationalization with Unicode string storage, and offers a suite of utilities such as plug-in support, XML property lists, URL resource access, and preferences.
Core Graphics
The Core Graphics framework is based on the Quartz advanced drawing engine. It provides low-level, lightweight 2D rendering with unmatched output fidelity. You use this framework to handle path-based drawing, transformations, color management, offscreen rendering, patterns, gradients and shadings, image data management, image creation, and image masking, as well as PDF document creation, display, and parsing.
Foundation Framework
The Foundation framework provides a base layer of functionality for apps and frameworks, including data storage and persistence, text processing, date and time calculations, sorting and filtering, and networking. The classes, protocols, and data types defined by Foundation are used throughout the macOS, iOS, watchOS, and tvOS SDKs.
Launch Services
macOS Launch Services is an API that enables a running app to open other apps or their document files, similar to the Finder or the Dock.Launch Services eliminates apps having to query the Finder to open an app, document, or URL for them. The macOS Finder itself uses Launch Services to perform such tasks. Because the Finder performs no additional processing beyond calling Launch Services, any client using Launch Services for these purposes behaves identically to the Finder.
MobileCoreServices
Use uniform type identifier (UTI) information to create and manipulate data that can be exchanged between your app and other apps and services using MobileCoreServices.

This collection of documents describes the programming interfaces of the System Configuration framework. The System Configuration framework provides functions that determine the reachability of target hosts in both a synchronous and an asynchronous manner. It also provides error detection facilities.
Core Location Framework
The Core Location framework lets you determine the current location or heading associated with a device. The framework uses the available hardware to determine the user’s position and heading. You use the classes and protocols in this framework to configure and schedule the delivery of location and heading events. You can also use it to define geographic regions and monitor when the user crosses the boundaries of those regions. In iOS, you can also define a region around a Bluetooth beacon.
UIKit
The UIKit framework (UIKit.framework) provides the crucial infrastructure needed to construct and manage iOS apps. This framework provides the window and view architecture needed to manage an app’s user interface, the event handling infrastructure needed to respond to user input, and the app model needed to drive the main run loop and interact with the system.
