"Life is a roller coaster. It has its ups and downs. But it's your choice to scream or enjoy the ride." I read that quote from somewhere and that basically sums up what this blog is all about. Life really has been like a roller coaster ride for me. I've had my share of traumatic, life-changing experiences (think broken family, wicked stepmothers, a dad with bipolar disorder, family in-fighting, death in the family, business troubles, blended family issues, career crossroads, etc.) Those privy to my entire life story have said it has the makings of a movie or at least, a telenovela. However, after so many years, I've decided that instead of thinking of myself as a victim of life's wicked twists and turns, I could instead turn my life around and focus on the good. No, I haven't stopped screaming entirely but I've made a conscious effort to try and enjoy the ride. After all, despite the lows, there are also lots of highs in my life. Instead of dwelling on my anxieties, I'm trying to KEEP CALM and SPARKLE ON. I'm Janice and I own this blog. I'm a thirty-something work-at-home mom of three in a blended family composed of my smart and beautiful daughters, Zoe and Ziya, ages 12 and 11, my sweet, rambunctious 2-year-old son, Ziggy, and Kai, the love of my life and dad to my little boy.
