    Hi! I’m Kara! Like many Moms, I wear quite a few hats. I’m a couponer, blogger, direct sales consultant, crafter, and most importantly…a wife to the most loving and supportive husband and a mother to our two wonderful munchkins. Years ago when I graduated with a biology degree I had no idea where life was going to lead me. I loved science (and still do!), but when my children were born nothing could compete with that love. I had to find a way to be home with them and share all of those precious memories we were sure to make. To make ends meet I worked from home at night as a virtual call center agent and also became a direct sales consultant. I have always thought of myself as a bargain hunter but it wasn’t until I was introduced to a blog that I learned the true power of couponing. Since learning all things couponing, I can’t begin to tell you the amount of money my family has saved. We’ve saved on food, diapers, clothing, all types of gifts, printer ink, tons of household items…you name it and I’ve probably had a deal for it along the way. Since Saving by Design is comprised of a few things I love, I’m not sure exactly where it began. Did it begin way back when I was young and would enjoy doing a new craft almost daily with my Babci? Did it begin when I learned the value of a dollar working in retail through all of high school and college? Did it begin when I began working from home as a virtual call center agent after having my kids and learned that careers truly were possible from home with the help of your computer? Or did it begin when Saving by Design launched as a website in June 2011 to help people save money and share all of my favorite things? Whenever it began, I can’t begin to tell you how happy I am to be here! Looking back now I truly believe God has led the way and I just followed along His path. Everything that has happened to me, whether success or failure, has led me to where I am today. I also would like to say Thank You! I am truly grateful for each and every one of you…whether you are a loyal reader or are stopping by for the first time. Without you, there would be no Saving by Design. I have made many wonderful friends along this journey and love helping people save their hard-earned money. It’s so good to actually be making a difference in people’s lives. I know what it’s like to struggle with money in today’s economy and to show people that there really is a way that they can help themselves…that’s a great feeling.
