Mission Statement

SNjourney is an online community devoted to helping nursing students. We do this by gathering clinical resources and assist with critical thinking. We also provide a place for students to come together to share their knowledge, thoughts, ideas, stories, and most of all, to support one another as future nurses.

We Care About

We believe every student should have every advantage possible for success. Using the versatility of the web we strive to compliment formal education as an additional tool for learning. We also provide a central meeting place for student's thoughts, ideas and clinical experiences to be shared and for emotional support to be exchanged.

• The Patients
We aim to increase patient safety by increasing the knowledge base in our new nurses. Our newsletter explores a wide variety of clinical scenarios that aim to fill gaps of material they were not exposed to in their clinical rotations.

• The Nursing Profession and its Future
Gaining national recognition of the scope and value of our profession is of paramount importance. We promote the movement of nurses to make high level decisions and create positive changes, in national and local health care policy and delivery systems.

• The Nursing Nation
We are dedicated to promoting strong bonds between fellow nurses. Nurses are mandated to assess, teach and care for our patients-SNJourney's mission also promotes assessing, teaching and supportively caring for "our young." We believe working together promotes achievement and leads to personal and professional satisfaction.

Vision

To be the premiere online community responsible for an increase in patient safety and communication and camaraderie in nursing. A voice for nurse leaders to speak out to students and a well utilized resource base helping students through nursing school.

There are three main areas of our community:

Newsletter-Peers and faculty looking to reach out to national and international student nurse population are invited to submit advice, exam questions or articles for publication. Individual and groups of students will be spotlighted as well as info on intern/extern opportunities. Practice exam questions are included in our newsletter. Using technological guidance, critical thinking skills are developed at all student levels. We also spotlight current nursing research and articles. Begin your subscription in your first semester and by the time you graduate you'll be comfortable with the licensure questions and better prepared for practice.

Resource Pages-We provide system reviews and supply links to the best educational information (at student nurse level) on the web. We have it all from abbreviations, to obtaining liability insurance, to providing info on the varied hospital intern and orientation programs enabling new nurses to make informed decisions as they begin their careers.

Bulletin Boards-It's where you go for advise, share thoughts and information, tell your stories, and most important of all, support one another. It doesn't matter which school you go to or what type of program you're enrolled in, together you're all future nurses.

Advertising must not be related to any of the following: alcohol, firearms, ammunition, fireworks, gambling, pornography, tobacco, or the simulation of news or an emergency. Advertisers must only offer products or services which are readily available for purchase at the advertised price (with noted tax and delivery fees). The Advertising must also clearly identify the advertiser. Any Advertising that could be misconstrued as editorial content will be clearly labeled as Advertising. SNJourney.com recognizes and maintains a distinct separation between Advertising content and editorial and decision-making content. All Advertising content on the SNJourney.com Site shall be clearly and unambiguously identified as such, and SNJourney.com will not run any Advertising on the SNJourney.com Site which is not so identified. Additionally, SNJourney.com retains the right to dictate the form and substance of all editorial content appearing on the SNJourney.com Site. SNJourney.com retains the exclusive right to determine the way in which any and all search results for specific information by keyword or topic are displayed on the SNJourney.com Site. SNJourney.com may display search results based on monetary incentives provided by Advertisers. SNJourney.com reserves the right to reject, cancel, or remove at any time any Advertising from the SNJourney.com Site for any reason and will provide prompt notice to the advertiser upon rejection, cancellation, or removal of any Advertising, together with an explanation following the rejection, cancellation, or removal. SNJourney.com also reserves the right to determine the appropriate placement of the Advertising on the SNJourney.com Site. It is the responsibility of the Advertiser to comply with all applicable domestic and foreign laws, including applicable laws and regulations of regulatory bodies. This includes pharmaceutical advertising to physicians and consumers that must be in compliance with FDA guidelines for Direct to Physician (DTP) and Direct to Consumer (DTC) advertising as well as underwritten CME programs that must be labeled in accordance with the guidelines of the Accrediting Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) and any other relevant accrediting bodies. SNJourney.com will not monitor compliance with applicable laws and regulations. However, SNJourney.com reserves the right to review all Advertising for compliance with applicable laws and regulations and, if SNJourney.com becomes aware of any breach or potential breach of any applicable law or regulation or of these guidelines, SNJourney.com may remove the Advertising.
