The Deadbolt was created by former Coming Attractions writer and entertainment journalist Reg Seeton in 2005. Upon its launch, The Deadbolt quickly became a Top 10 Google News entertainment resource with over 2 million page views per month within six months of its inception.

Covering the latest in celebrity entertainment news, The Deadbolt re-launched in 2007 with a new design to expand its growing content base to reach a wider international audience that grew to over 3.5 million pageviews.

In 2013 Reg decided it was time to move on to his next adventure and passed the torch to new management and a new group of bloggers.
