Over the first year as traffic steadily increased, I made significant effort to become better attuned to who my readers are and what they are looking for. I learned that a significant portions of my readers are Portlanders like me, and (while not vegetarian) have a decided interest in healthy eating and well-rounded, Pacific Northwest-friendly content. Armed with this new information, in the spring of 2014 I expanded the focus of The Good Hearted Woman to include what I refer to as Life Beyond the Kitchen Door. Still first and foremost a resource for information and inspiration to home cooks and foodies of all kinds, The Good Hearted Woman also now includes reviews of music, books, and local healthy lifestyle products, as well as spotlights of Pacific Northwest destinations, events and activities.
