Publisher: Granby Drummer - by Citizens for a Better Granby

Formed in 1970, Citizens for a Better Granby—CBG for short—is a community-based, not-for-profit organization who goal is to inform and educate the public on civic and social issues, provide a forum for open communication, stimulate public interest and enrich Granby including North Granby and West Granby geographical sections. Policy making is carried out by a board of directors and four officers. To meet this mission, CBG began publishing a monthly newspaper in 1970 called The Granby Drummer. Since 1997 CBG has donated more than $90,000 to Granby organizations and activities to benefit the community’s well-being. These organizations and activities include the Civil War monument restoration, Ecology Center at Granby Memorial Middle School, Granby Memorial High School scholarships and equipment, Granby Education Foundation, Granby Public and Cossitt libraries. Granby Senior Center defibrillator equipment, Holcomb Farm, Parks and Recreation concerts, Salmon Brook Historical Society and the Salmon Brook Park playground project.
