THE BLOG All we wanted was an online travel journal. That was the plan. One night, while stuck in the hotel room after yet another heavy downpour that paralyzed our travel plan, we considered setting up a blog to document how it always rained every time we would go on a trip. We didn’t think anyone would bother to read it, but we did it anyway. It was one of those things we did just for the heck of it. [Read more about the bloggers here.] But over the last four years, The Poor Traveler has emerged as one of the biggest travel blogs in the Philippines and in the region in terms of traffic and social media presence. (Yeah, we know it sounds cocky, but we need advertisers, so….) ADVERTISE WITH US! We are open to banner advertisements, ex-deals, social media promotions/online contests, and other forms of partnerships. For the rate card, please get in touch with Yoshke Dimen at yoshke@philippinebeaches.org. SUCCESS IN NUMBERS Our 108,000-strong base is one of the largest travel communities on Facebook in the country, and it’s still growing fast. Our consistent search- and social-driven traffic has put us on the no. 7 spot of The Expeditioner’s list of Top Travel Blogs in the World according to unique visits. Our partner website PhilippineBeaches.org, with 1.4 million likes on Facebook, was Asia’s biggest travel/leisure page based on 2012 SocialBakers data. The Poor Traveler is also one of the only three (3) travel-and-leisure blogs in the Top 20 of the list of 100 Pinoy Blogs that Matter (as of June 2014). We have been included in Leisure + Adventure Magazine’s list of “10 Travel Accounts to Follow Online” and in Cruising Magazine’s “15 Travel Blogs to Guide Your Next Trip.” IN PRINT AND ON PLAQUES We have contributed to and been featured on many magazines including Travel Now, Navigator, and Mabuhay Magazine.
