About Welcome This Guy Over Here is a website that publishes movie reviews, Blu-ray and DVD reviews, and articles aimed at cinephiles and weekend moviegoers alike. Started in 2009, This Guy has been nominated for numerous awards, including Total Film Magazine’s Best Review Blog, and has been chosen as a Grand Jury member for Beneath the Earth Film Festival alongside personalities like Gabourey Sidibe. In 2011, This Guy released 100 Films from the Aughties, an eBook that focuses on the best movies from 2000 to 2009. In the last year, the website has expanded to include Blu-ray & DVD disc reviews. The website is updated daily with a mixture of new reviews from new releases on home video or in the theater to archival films. Who is This Guy? After much deliberation, I’ve chosen to write anonymously for practical and personal reasons. It’s my hope that without the restrictions of race, age, profession, or gender (er, maybe not gender), will allow my articles to speak for themselves. Writing is something I’ve done my entire life, and for the last fifteen (plus) years I have been intensely studying film.
