ThreeHundredEight.com provides projections for Canadian federal and provincial elections in a non-partisan manner, and focuses primarily on the topic of political opinion polls. The site is owned and run by me, Éric Grenier. I am a writer specializing in Canadian politics and history. I am currently a contributor to the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. I wrote for The Globe and Mail from 2010 to 2014, The Hill Times from 2010 to 2015, and The Huffington Post Canada from 2011 to 2014. I also worked with Le Devoir during the 2011 federal election campaign and L'actualité during the 2012 and 2014 Quebec election campaigns, and I have been published in several history magazines. I am available for public speaking engagements to discuss polling and upcoming federal and provincial elections. I have never been employed by any political party, I have no political affiliations and I am not an advocate for or active supporter or member of any political party. While I did volunteer when I was younger, before this site was launched in October 2008, those days are well behind me. I am absolutely committed to presenting the information here in a non-partisan manner and the projection model is absolutely neutral. I am also committed to reporting on polls responsibly, which means emphasizing statistically significant shifts in support over those that are within the margin of error, identifying potential outlier results, and expecting a high standard of transparency and quality from Canada's pollsters. ThreeHundredEight refers to the number of seats that were in the Canadian House of Commons when the site was launched. This site has been inspired by the fantastic work of Nate Silver of FiveThirtyEight, an American data site that does electoral projections for congressional and presidential races, poll analysis, and more. My methods are inspired by but do not mimic his methods.
