About Us

Founded in 1999, the TRIBUNA Newspaper is a biweekly publication in English, Portuguese and Spanish that provides news coverage on a local, state, and national level, with an emphasis on community events.

TRIBUNA targets multiple generations of immigrant populations – those who prefer to receive their news in their native tongue as well as those transcending language barriers. The paper’s print layout allows for English on the top portion of the page and a Portuguese or Spanish translation of that same article on the bottom of the page

It is a tool to promote cross-cultural learning, inspire new immigrant communities to become involved in the areas in which they live as well as providing a window to American readers to be a part of the multicultural world around them,” said Celia Bacelar, TRIBUNA Newspaper Founder and Publisher.

In 2008, Tribuna Newspaper was the recipient of the New England Ethnic News wire Community Service Award, recognized among 125 entrants in the New England area for its a key role in advocating about community issues.

In 2009 Tribuna Newspaper was the recipient of the Brazilian International Press Awards, Golden Press Award for its 10 years in the publishing industry, as well as the Best Front Page award.
