WACH FOX is a full-power UHF station that began broadcasting in 1980 as a Christian Independent Station and became a FOX affiliate in 1988. WACH broadcasts its signal on channel 48. The station can also be seen on both DirecTV and DISH Network. WACH FOX is the home of WACH FOX News at Ten, Columbia's only primetime newscast, which is among the highest-rated late newscasts among FOX affiliates in the country. WACH FOX News at Ten celebrated 15 years of service in the Midlands on March 6, 2010. WACH FOX is also the home of Good Day Columbia, Columbia's only four hour, all-local morning program. The station is aggressive in its community service efforts, including Waiting Child WACH, Teens to WACH, MoneyWACH, Hire our Heroes, the annual Red Cross Blood Drive “Drive for Life”, American Heart Association partnership – Go Red for Women, Heart Ball, and Annual Midlands Heart Walk, and the annual Share Your Holiday food drive for Harvest Hope Food Bank, the largest food drive in the state. WACH FOX is committed to providing viewers with quality shows such as GLEE, The Following, American Idol, NASCAR, Major League Baseball and the NFL; and syndicated programming such as The Simpsons, Modern Family, and The Big Bang Theory.
