Our goal is to provide you, the outdoor enthusiast, with as much information about recreational opportunities in the United States as we can get our hands on. As a Colorado native and avid outdoor enthusiast, I knew there were trails and campgrounds out there but I didn't know how to find them quickly and easily on the Web.

Wildernet started in 1995 as a project within the Aspen.com web site and initially covered the White River National Forest. It has since grown to be the largest database of outdoor recreation information in the world with over 40,000 area and activity descriptions throughout the United States. Wildernet.com provides you with one easy to use, comprehensive web site for information about campgrounds, fishing spots, trails, beaches, jeep roads, scenic drives and many other resources. Wildernet.com is designed for users of all interests and experience levels so whether you're a beginner or an expert, birdwatcher or horseback rider, mountain biker or skier, we can help you plan your next adventure. With our new site design, Wildernet.com is even easier to navigate. Search by state, by activity and by keyword. Or simply click on a state and then search for the activity or recreation area that interests you.
