Fixed Ads Own a section front of WRAL.com for a full day. A section front is the actual homepage or the main page of a section (News home, Entertainment home, etc.). This high-impact ad position tends to have higher click-through rates than impression based ad campaigns. Your ad will appear no matter what device the page is accessed from. Below is an example of how a fixed ad looks across all platforms. From right to left, the ad sizes included in a fixed ad are 300×600, 728×90, 468×60 and 320×50. Fixed ads are sold by day. When you run a display campaign with WRAL.com, we produce various ad sizes that reach your audience based on the device they’re using. Whether a customer is at home surfing the web or browsing the internet on a mobile device, we can deliver your message. Display ads are sold on a CPM (cost per thousand) basis. 300×600 Half Page: appears on desktop computers, laptop computers and tablets in landscape view 300×250 Medium Rectangle: appears in multiple places across all devices 728×90 Leaderboard: appears and stays at the top of tablets while the user scrolls down the page 468×60 Full Banner: appears and stays at the top of smaller tablets while the user scrolls 320×50 Mobile Banner: appears and stays at the top of mobile phones while the user scrolls Rich media ads are more visible and engaging than your typical banner ads. They can include video, social media feeds and multiple links. Click on the images below to interact with these live sample ads. Rich media ads are sold at a CPM rate. Polite Ad Polite ads aim to engage the audience by giving them the power of click to play video or click to unmute video. This 300×600 ad can include video, social media links or feed, image gallery, data capture, and RSS feed. A Mini Site is a 300×600 ad that includes click-to-play video and various buttons that link to your company’s social media profiles or website. Pushdown ads start as a 1000×90 banner at the top of the screen and then drop down and expand to reveal more content, whether it’s video or editorial. A filmstrip ad is a multi-panel 300×600 ad unit. A user can flip through several frames, so you don’t have to tell your story with just one ad. Sidekicks start out as a 300×250, but they push content over upon user initiation to expand and reveal more interactive ad content. A portrait ad is a 300×1050 ad available on our story-level pages. The ad takes up sufficient space to get the user’s attention, but it also pairs well next to reader content. This ad can contain video, images, social feeds and other content to engage users. Preroll is a non-skippable commercial that plays before videos on WRAL.com, giving you an uninterrupted 15-second window to deliver your message. We can use an existing video or TV spot, or there is a fee for production. Online preroll includes an added value 300×250 companion banner that serves alongside your video when possible. We also offer mobile preroll on WRAL apps. Your commercial can include two to five action buttons including social media icons, click to call, map & directions or a link to your site. Preroll ads have the highest click-through rate out of any ads and are sold by CPM. Reach an engaged news audience with your 30-second spot during the live stream of WRAL-TV news online. There are eight live newscasts throughout the day, and live stream commercials play for users on desktop computers and laptops, tablets and mobile devices. Your message is exposed to all users during all times of the day. Live stream commercials are sold monthly. You receive 10% SOV of all available spots per month (an average of 525 spots). WRAL.com has various monthly or yearly sponsorship opportunities. Brand a specific page on WRAL.com that makes sense for your company. Your fixed ad (includes 300×600, 728×90, 468×60 & 320×50) can own this page across all devices for months or years at a time. Cost varies based on the page you’d like to sponsor. A section sponsorship includes the Mega Menu, Tile and Band of one of WRAL.com’s main sections. Mega Menu When a user hovers over the navigation bar on a desktop or clicks the navigation bar on a touch screen, there is a drop down menu that spotlights content based on the section chosen by the user. As seen below, there are three images that appear in the menu and the third spot is reserved for a 180×135 sponsor ad. This spot can be used for general branding but also works well for promoting specific events or specials. Tile & Band A section sponsorship also includes a 160×45 tile and a 200×25 band, which appear on the section front, the main page of the section. The tile appears in the top right corner of the page while the band is centered below the main stories and headlines.
