    The website started life as the ever-so-slightly gender-biased DVDBlokes.com way back in January 2001, and came about as the result of two individual’s need for regularly updated DVD information. Despite the high standards of competition, we felt that there was something missing from most websites–fun! In our experience DVD website's seemed to be either incredibly boring to read, or contained little information of any use. It was for these reasons that DVDBlokes.com was born and the rest, as they say, is history! After months of preparation and construction, DVDBlokes.com finally opened its doors to the public on the 1st of July 2001, with the aim of providing a fun environment for all things DVD. The website quickly went on to become one of the Internet’s leading sources of news and reviews. DVDBlokes.com proved to be more successful than we could possibly have imaged. In light of our new-found popularity we decided that we should broaden our horizons and attempt to reach a wider audience, something that the DVDBlokes.com moniker made very difficult! To this end, as of the 1st of July 2002, the website was re-launched as DVDAnswers.com. The second incarnation of the website proved to be even more popular than the first, regularly attracting around four million page views every month! While DVDAnswers.com proved to be very successful, we still thought that we could do better! In November of 2005 we launched this, the third iteration of the website– DVDActive.com–which features a cleaner, more accessible interface while offering improved functionality to our readers. DVDActive.com’s large team of dedicated editorialists and reviewers are striving to make this the best version of the website yet. We love our work, and we hope this shines through in our content! To date the website has been featured in a number of leading publications, including .net magazine–who listed us as one of the top ten film sites–and Which? magazine, who highlighted our site as a leading source of DVD player hacks. Our reviews and articles have also been published in a number of leading magazines, including Screen Power and FHM. DVDActive.com will continue to evolve to enable us to bring you the very best in news, reviews and features. With your help the site will continue to grow as we strive to make DVDActive.com the ultimate DVD website! DVDActive is one of the more popular DVD news and reviews websites on the Internet. We receive millions of page views and enjoy well over half a million unique visitors every month.
