    The Mirror covers the towns of Tonganoxie, Linwood and McLouth, along with Leavenworth County. The newspaper, which was founded in 1882, is published every Wednesday. It is owned by The World Company, which also publishes the Lawrence Journal-World and several other publications in northeast Kansas, Colorado and Arizona. The Mirror was purchased in 1999 from Don and Mary Waterman, who had owned the newspaper since 1991. Since its purchase by The World Company, The Mirror has won first place in the Inland Press Association's Best Non-Daily Newspaper Contest in 2001 and from 2004 to 2006. The paper took third place in 2008.
