This blog is paid for entirely out of my own pocket. Any money I can earn from blog ads (or your generous donations) go strictly to maintaining this site. I’m definitely not getting rich out of running this blog. Can I donate to this site? Yes! I accept donations to help keep this site running. Donations will go to pay for my domain and bandwidth. Any additional money received on top of those costs will be donated to a charity or progressive non-profit. Please email me at jenn [at] reappropriate [dot] co to organize a donation. What advertising is there available on this site? This site uses Blogads and Google AdSense, and contracted ads are available. They will appear in the right-hand sidebar above the site badge immediately below the search bar. Can I advertise on this site? Blogad space is available in the sidebar of this site, starting at just $15/week. All ad images should have a width no larger than 160 pixels. Proposed advertisements are subject to my final approval to ensure that they are appropriate for this blog’s audience. What are the site metrics? Currently, the site attracts approcimately 20,000 unique views a month. Can I advertise on this site for free? I have a “Spotlight” section in the sidebar that is available to provide free advertising for non-profit Asian American or progressive organizations, events or charity groups. If your organization fits this description, please email me with the content of your ad (and how long you’d like for it to run). You may include an advertising graphic for your organization or event, with a width no larger than 160 pixels. What do you do with ad revenue? I plan on using ad revenue to cover the monthly costs of this site. Additional profits (if any) will be donated to non-profit Asian American and/or feminist organizations under the name “Readers of Reappropriate.co”. I just saw an ad that seems at odds with the stated purpose of this blog (e.g. dating sites promoting Asian women). What gives? Google Adsense places ads on the blog that are based on content crawls of the site. Because I blog about Asian Americans and women, I frequently get dating sites appear on my blog. I’ve done my best to block those advertisers, but the filtering system at Google is a little finnicky. If you see an ad appearing on this site that should not be here, please send me an email at jenn@reappropriate.co with the URL of the advertiser and a description of the ad content. If I also feel that the ad is inappropriate for this blog, I will add that advertiser to my blocked ads list.
