    Publisher: App Developer Magazine
  • Key Differentiator
Our goal is to provide relevant news and information in a snapshot view that offers app developers a place where they can get the latest information about products and services that help them to build, market, monetize, and deliver better apps across all of the mobile ecosystem. Throughout our publication you will find information as it relates to mobile development globally, not just in one platform or language. We look at everything in mobile development as a global movement and want to keep developers informed of everything happening "all over" not just in a single area. We think options are a good thing to have with such a growing industry. Hey, we get tired of all of the "noise" too, and mis-information that confuses folks about what you really need to do to get your app to the market, we weed through all of that for you and deliver to you only the best content you'll need to make your app a success in the market. Our website provides up to the minute news and information you can keep as a resource to check throughout the day, or get our newsletter for weekly roundups of what's been happening. It's also the place you can come and read digital monthly issues that are identical to the printed version of the magazine. We have iOS, Android, and other markets Newsstand apps as well, where the publication can be accessed from while being mobile.

The magazine has disappeared

Since March 2014 there seems to be no magazine behind the icon. Just a number of pop ups appear and the clumsy possibility to connect to their web site. Moreover the app correctly reports I have an active subscription, but when I try to log in the portal it say it is expired. I wrote to them but they did not answer. That's a shame at it was a quite good magazine.

Great magazine, need better saving option

I love the articles on app development. However, I need better integration with Pocket. I use a Pocket to save articles and links for later viewing. The clip feature is somewhat useless since the clip is just a picture of the text.

App developers must have!!!

This is how I find out about what's next in the app dev world. Rich content covering everything related to the industry and not leaving behind any OS! Somehow I always feel I have an edge over my colleagues simply because of what I read in App Developer magazine. Real great articles, enjoy!

Launch Services
macOS Launch Services is an API that enables a running app to open other apps or their document files, similar to the Finder or the Dock.Launch Services eliminates apps having to query the Finder to open an app, document, or URL for them. The macOS Finder itself uses Launch Services to perform such tasks. Because the Finder performs no additional processing beyond calling Launch Services, any client using Launch Services for these purposes behaves identically to the Finder.

You use the classes and protocols in this framework to configure and schedule the delivery of location and heading events. You can also use it to define geographic regions and monitor when the user crosses the boundaries of those regions. In iOS, you can also define a region around a Bluetooth beacon.
