The roots of this family business began as early as the pioneer settlement of Southern Utah. One descendant of those 1862 pioneers was Lester Wittwer. In 1928 he started a trucking business with other family members. They delivered homegrown fruits and vegetables to outlying towns. Their desire to take care of his customers reflected in other ventures including the motel business. Lester’s children worked along side him in the motels. As they tended to the needs of tired and weary travelers, they learned from their father how to take care of their guests. The story of The Boulevard began in 1974, when Lester Wittwer and his family started the furniture business. Starting with a small showroom of only 8,000 square feet and two full-time employees. Today the Boulevard has over 115,000 sq. ft. of showroom space in their St. George store, Mesquite Store & New Cedar City Store opening May of 2014. With 3 store locations and a large Distribution and Clearance Center, there are now over 150 team members. Boulevard Home Furnishings, named after its original location on Southern Utah’s most famous street ... “St. George Boulevard.” Moving to the current location in June 2000 raised the question “How can you continue to be ‘The Boulevard’ if you’re not located on the Boulevard?” The answer was simple, “We take the street with us.” At the heart of our store is the “Boulevard”. It represents the street that brought customers to the Boulevard, and now it leads them throughout the store. The Boulevard continues its commitment to customer service that started over eighty years ago.
