    Foodie by day, microwaver by night; I set out to teach my kid (and myself) the art of cooking in hopes of churning, burning and learning new recipes along the way. The mission: 365 recipes in 365 days. The ground rules: All cooking must be kid-assisted. Doubling up is OK, but a minimum of 7 recipes must be attempted each week UNLESS travel is involved. Our cooking project began in December of 2009 as personal journey to introduce my kid to the foods I love, instead of making chicken nuggets every night. I also hoped that with all this practice I would become a better, more intuitive cook myself. I had no idea that this little adventure would inspire so many and have such an amazing influence on my son’s palette. After only two weeks of cooking every day my kid was willing to try so many new things, and months later he began actually requesting spinach, zucchini, chick peas and so much more. I truly believe that cooking together is a cure for pickiness. When my kid participates and sees all the ingredients go in, especially when he’s a part of the adventure, he discovers new foods on his own. Cooking together has really changed the way we eat. Speaking of cooking, I’ve been baking up a new little chef! She’s enjoyed all our creations in utero, and now she’s here and getting acclimated to life on the outside while watching her brother and me cook! It all started with Cooking With My Kid. Back in December of 2009, I made a commitment to cook with my kid every day for 365 days. Needless to say, it took us a wee bit longer than 365 days to get through all those recipes but 1 year and 1 month later we published our 365th post and we feel pretty darn good about it. We’re still cooking, but we’re also busy working on a new food project to be announced soon!
