    Hi, friend! My name is Hilah Johnson. My partner Christopher Sharpe and I began our webshow Hilah Cooking in January 2010. We create short-form, educational, and occasionally hilarious cooking videos geared towards beginner and intermediate cooks, as well as people who are just looking for simple, low-cost recipes. Everything is made from scratch, people! You will not see any packets of taco seasoning mix or gravy powder up in here. If you are going to learn how to cook, you are going to learn it for real! But I promise it will be fun and easy. All of the ingredients are a cinch to find and I avoid using any super-specialized gadgets in order to keep the recipes accessible to everyone. That means I grind pepper in a mortar and froth up egg whites in my mouth. Just kidding. That would be gross. December 2012, we released our first print book: Learn To Cook Book. It covers everything you need to know about buying, preparing, storing, and cooking food so that you can live and take care of yourself like a grown-up. It’s also really, really, really funny and has cartoon illustrations of dancing bananas and drunk pineapples in bikinis and stuff like that to keep you interested. And as of right now, December 2013, my very first cookbook has just been revised, expanded and re-released! The Breakfast Taco Book, is available now in print or eBook format with more recipes, more stories, and more pretty pictures. If you love breakfast tacos, this book is a trove of information and anecdotes about tacos. If you’ve never had a breakfast taco, this book is going to change your life. It’s full of all the recipes you need to make some kickin’ tacos for breakfast. Even the tortillas and salsa. I’ve been cooking since I could reach the stove — it was REALLY HOT! — and love it. I also do a bunch of other artsy crap like acting, writing, singing, and rescuing stray dogs. I love spicy food, dirty jokes, and porch-drinking. Chris is one of those that is absolutely befuddled by cooking. It’s a good thing that he knows how to hold a camera straight. Seriously.
