    The Site magnetic-rose.net is dedicated to all things J-pop for Philippine fans — manga, anime, music, gaming, cosplay, toys, and BL. We are currently on version 7.02 starting 10th February 2014 with theme tweaks and a new gallery function. The blog was named after a short film about a haunted space station entitled “Magnetic Rose”. It was part of an anthology called “Memories”, written by Otomo Katsuhiro, adapted for the screen by Kon Satoshi, and directed by Morimoto Kouji. Kanno Yoko provided the musical score while Maria Callas’ performance of “Un bel dì, vedremo” was the signature vocal piece. The Affiliations magnetic-rose.net is an Official Affiliate of the Singapore Toy, Games & Comic Convention 2014. This marks the fifth consecutive year that the site is affiliated with STGCC. STGCC 2014 will be held on teh 6th and 7th of September at the Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Center in Singapore. magnetic-rose.net is also an Official Affiliate of Anime Festival Asia 2013; the site has been partnering with AFA since 2009. AFA 12 is the largest anime, cosplay, and gaming convention in the South East Asian region. AFA 13 was held on the 8th until the 10th of November 2013 at the Suntec City Convention Center. magnetic-rose.net is a partner of the Philippines’ biggest cosplay convention Cosplay Mania 14. CM14 is organized by the largest and most relevant cosplay community in the Philippines Cosplay.PH. CM14 will be held on the 4th and 5th of October 2014 at the SMX Convention Center, SM Mall of Asia Complex, Pasay City. magnetic-rose.net is an Official Affiliate of The Best of Anime 2013 — a co-located event of the 2013 Manila Book Fair. Organised by Primetrade Asia Inc., this is the third consecutive year that the site is affiliated with the event. The Best of Anime 2011 will be held on the 14th and 15th of September 2013 at the SMX Convention Center, SM Mall of Asia Complex, Pasay City. magnetic-rose.net is an Official Affiliate of TOEInty Five! the Toei Animation Philippines 25th Anniversary Celebrations, organised by Toei Animation Philippines Inc., a subsidiary of Toei Animation in Japan. This the second time that the site is affiliated with the event. The 20th Anniversary was held last 26 November 2006, and the 25th Anniversary was held on 26th November 2011. The Accolades magnetic-rose.net has been voted Best Blog at the 2013 Otaku Choice Awards organized by Pinoy Otaku Festival. magnetic-rose.net is a Finalist for the Culture and Arts Category – National Level of the Philippine Blog Awards 2011; magnetic-rose.net was the Philippine Blog Awards 2009 Winner for the same category, as well as a Finalist for the Reader’s Choice Award for 2009. magnetic-rose.net won the Animax Asia Last Exile Review Contest held in October 2011. The Last Exile Review Contest is a writing competition centered on the Gonzo anime series “Last Exile ~Fam, The Silver Wing~”. The prize is an all-expense paid trip to Tokyo, Japan to watch Animax Musix live. magnetic-rose.net has been granted a Special Citation by the organizers of the 2011 Akegarasu Haya Prize Essay Competition for a piece done on raising bilingual children. The 27th Akegarasu Haya Prize is organized annually by Hakusan City, the hometown of renowned Japanese thinker and educator Akegarasu Haya, to honor his remarkable achievements. magnetic-rose.net won the Animax Asia and Hong Kong Tourism Board’s Halloween Treats Blogging Competition for 2010. In 2009, it won the South East Asia-wide MTV Asia Blogging Competition for Games and Gadgets, where one of the prizes was a six-month writing assignment for the international music channel. The Publisher Rochelle (magnetic_rose) has been into anime for seventeen years now. She started blogging on LiveJournal in November 2001 to distract herself from the loneliness and isolation of college life in Tokyo. These days she is an Accountant by Day, Supervillain by Night. Rochelle likes Luna Sea, Final Fantasy VII, Initial D, Macross Frontier, Pinky:St., Vocaloid 2, and OS-Tan. She also has a thing for Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, Anthony Edward Stark, La Furia Roja, Liverpool FC, and 2D men in military uniforms. Rochelle is a proud cancer survivor, a Level 2 Japanese Language Proficiency Certificate holder, a card-carrying member of the Philippine Red Cross, and supports the Philippines Reproductive Health Bill.
