I realized a few years into marriage and motherhood that being a stay at home mom can be a lonely place to be at times, especially when we are so outnumbered by little people who could truly careless whether we are tired, need a shower, or haven’t eaten a meal off of a plate in 4 days. Perhaps more profoundly, I also realized that each and every one of us mothers, no matter how critical and judgmental we are of one another – are more the same than different. So many “mom” sites seem to focus their reader’s attention on all the things that make us different from one another. They seem to highlight points of division rather than unite us in our similarities. We are all fighting the same fight. Our methods may differ, but our goals are all the same: To raise beautiful, independent, strong children… without LOSING OURSELVES in the process.
