About

Techonomy’s name embodies our beliefs and our mission—it combines the words “technology” and “economy” because technology has become a central part of the economy in which we operate and the society in which we live. Today technology is inextricably entwined with just about every activity that humans undertake. We embrace that fact, and seek as a company to help the world take advantage of it.

We host our annual flagship Techonomy conference to help leaders understand the transformations underway in business and society. The invitation-only Techonomy 2015 is Nov. 8-10 at the Ritz Carlton Half Moon Bay, California. We also host other public and private events throughout the year, and publish extensive editorial content at www.techonomy.com. Our theme is "Re-Humanizing Society" because we see tech being challenged and questioned in many ways even as we believe it remains our best hope to rapidly build a world that is fairer, more informed, happier, and wealthier.

As the pace of change speeds up, many of us find it challenging to grasp our range of options. We at Techonomy hold that all leaders must, in effect, become technologists. Only then can we and they effectively guide our organizations, companies, and communities towards long-term health and impact.

Techonomy casts its lens broadly across business and society in order to highlight and explore the manifold ways in which tech’s impact is felt. We care about the future of food and nutrition, healthcare, education, government, science, the arts, transportation, cities, infrastructure, communication, media, architecture, and indeed any sphere of human endeavor. We believe there is no field in which tech is not having a transformative impact.

We seek conversation at the highest level about the role of technology in social progress. We convene communities by hosting conferences, publishing articles and videos, and advocating for greater understanding about the pace of change and what it means.

Description:

Techonomy focuses on how the exponential pace of technology progress makes possible a new world. A wave of accelerating change driven by technology's advance is washing over our lives, bringing great potential for business and social progress.

We believe business in every industry has the potential to grasp hold of the transformative changes happening because of the network and other tech innovations. And we know the world requires transformation--that a planet with billions of uneducated, malnourished, unhealthy, disenfranchised people cannot be sustained. Tech-driven innovation, driven by business, can help address those inequities.

Our goal at Techonomy is to help leaders and innovators better understand how to anticipate and harness this power rather than be blindsided by it. Tech-driven change demands different ways of thinking, different kinds of management, and new pathways to profit and wealth.

Social, mobile, and cloud technologies, along with a vast accumulation of measurable and actionable data, are opening new arenas of human endeavor. Meanwhile, we see an unstoppable empowerment of the individual, with implications for government, business, product development, education, and even finance. The Techonomy conference convenes discussions among leaders about these challenges and opportunities. We believe every leader must focus on the implications of technology change.

We gather a diversity of expert voices for a multidisciplinary dialogue about creating a better future. We encourage active participation by all.

AVFoundation
The AV Foundation framework provides an Objective-C interface for managing and playing audio-visual media in iOS and OS X applications.
Core Foundation Framework
Core Foundation is a framework that provides fundamental software services useful to application services, application environments, and to applications themselves. Core Foundation also provides abstractions for common data types, facilitates internationalization with Unicode string storage, and offers a suite of utilities such as plug-in support, XML property lists, URL resource access, and preferences.
Core Graphics
The Core Graphics framework is based on the Quartz advanced drawing engine. It provides low-level, lightweight 2D rendering with unmatched output fidelity. You use this framework to handle path-based drawing, transformations, color management, offscreen rendering, patterns, gradients and shadings, image data management, image creation, and image masking, as well as PDF document creation, display, and parsing.
Core Location Framework
The Core Location framework lets you determine the current location or heading associated with a device. The framework uses the available hardware to determine the user’s position and heading. You use the classes and protocols in this framework to configure and schedule the delivery of location and heading events. You can also use it to define geographic regions and monitor when the user crosses the boundaries of those regions. In iOS, you can also define a region around a Bluetooth beacon.
Foundation Framework
The Foundation framework provides a base layer of functionality for apps and frameworks, including data storage and persistence, text processing, date and time calculations, sorting and filtering, and networking. The classes, protocols, and data types defined by Foundation are used throughout the macOS, iOS, watchOS, and tvOS SDKs.
Launch Services
macOS Launch Services is an API that enables a running app to open other apps or their document files, similar to the Finder or the Dock.Launch Services eliminates apps having to query the Finder to open an app, document, or URL for them. The macOS Finder itself uses Launch Services to perform such tasks. Because the Finder performs no additional processing beyond calling Launch Services, any client using Launch Services for these purposes behaves identically to the Finder.
MobileCoreServices
Use uniform type identifier (UTI) information to create and manipulate data that can be exchanged between your app and other apps and services using MobileCoreServices.
Quartz Core Framework
Allow users to browse, edit, and save images, using slideshows and Core Image filters. The Quartz Composer API supports processing and rendering graphical data and allows developers to create custom patches for the Quartz Composer developer tool. ImageKit provides user interface support for browsing, editing, and saving images, showing slideshows, and browsing and previewing Core Image filters. PDFKit is a technology that allows applications to display and manipulate PDF documents.
System Configuration F...
This collection of documents describes the programming interfaces of the System Configuration framework. The System Configuration framework provides functions that determine the reachability of target hosts in both a synchronous and an asynchronous manner. It also provides error detection facilities.
UIKit
The UIKit framework (UIKit.framework) provides the crucial infrastructure needed to construct and manage iOS apps. This framework provides the window and view architecture needed to manage an app’s user interface, the event handling infrastructure needed to respond to user input, and the app model needed to drive the main run loop and interact with the system.
