By its monthly mailings, TheHomeMag supports local economies, inspiring the top 20% of single family homeowners in 33 US markets to preserve and improve their homes. TheHomeMag multiplies its print efforts and those of its advertisers with a substantial digital presence offering online versions of all magazines, landing pages for advertisers and other online services. Press Inquiries: Diana Wilcox Layman, Director of Marketing History The inaugural Issue of TheHomeImprover, as it was originally known, was mailed to 100,000 homes in July 2002 in Lee County, Florida. Initially a quarterly publication, the first three Issues proved to be an overwhelming success. A name change designed to broaden the magazine’s appeal, an accelerated mailing schedule, and TheHomeMag was created. Expansion began in June 2004 with a partner location in Ventura, CA. Over the next two years, three more partner locations launched in Palm Beach, Tampa, and Jacksonville, Florida. By the beginning of 2007, and with five active magazines operating, TheHomeMag was ready to expand into franchising, with the first franchise location signed for Las Vegas, Nevada. Over the next few years, TheHomeMag's primary expansion strategy was franchising, opening nearly 20 additional locations in 10 states. In the shadow of the economic downturn, franchising slowed and the company turned its focus inward from primarily franchise expansion to opening company operated magazines. Weathering the economic storm with tight financial controls, eight additional magazines opened from 2011 to 2013, including five corporate magazines and another three franchises, bringing the current magazine count to 33 magazines with two more scheduled for the third quarter of 2014. With over 64 million magazines mailing annually to the top 20% of the single family owner-occupied homes, our more than 3,500 advertising clients experience the profit generating power of TheHomeMag every month.
