    I am just a girl living on the edge of boredom and chaos with a salty wit and healthy sweet tooth. THE CREATOR I am the artist of my kitchen with a serious passion for creating healthier meals without compromising flavor. Ice cream has its own food group in my world. Tapas are my favorite creations and I could eat breakfast for every meal of the day. I am a culinary trained chef that has found my calling through mishaps with my health and being diagnosed with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), which is a condition in women causing an imbalance of hormones. Upon struggles with a doctor that lacked bed side manners, I left the doctor’s office with a diagnosis, a prescription and no information on my condition. I took it upon myself to inform and take a hold of my health. I am determined to not ‘treat’ my condition with another medicine, rather use fitness and food as my medicine. Nearly a year has passed since my diagnosis and transition into a healthier lifestyle and I believe my condition is more under control than ever. My body has energy again, I have more good days then bad finally and my mind is clearer with every sunrise. THE HISTORY My passion for cooking started in college when I started craving more down home, nutritious meals and frozen Lean Cuisine’s weren’t cutting it anymore. Upon graduating college and working in the real world, my itch to be in the kitchen was more than in the evenings whipping up dinner for my friends and family. So I enrolled in culinary school to only find out my love for cooking for was merely to entertain rather than work on the hot lines in evenings. After following blogs for years, I slowly started to realize, “I could do that!” With lots of back and forth conversations, my culinary school training and my passion for nutritious meals, I am ecstatic to have a piece of the web to call my own! THE SCOOP Although my taste buds crave nutrient dense, unprocessed foods, I promise you I have a sweet tooth the size of Texas. I will be sure to throw in some indulgent recipes to ensure that sugary and sinful treats do still exist! I believe I can fully enjoy all foods in moderation. You will find seasonal recipes that are easy to prepare, use minimal ingredients, and are anything but plain jane chicken. With Salt and Wit was created to inspire women (and men!) to create delicious, healthy meals yet satisfy the flavors your taste buds are looking for!
