WPBS-TV is licensed as St. Lawrence Valley Educational Television Council, Inc. and was founded in 1958 as a non-profit educational corporation established under an absolute Charter from the NYS Board of Regents. WPBS-TV serves approximately 2.2 million viewers in Northern New York and Eastern Ontario, Canada.

WPBS-TV is a producer of local content, Northern New York's largest classroom, a vital community resource and is a distributor of national programs.

Our mission is to educate, entertain and inform our two-nation audience through superior local and national content and media engagement in order to enhance the lives of those we serve. WPBS-TV is a non-profit public television station.
