Maps fail

App fails when trying to input a location - even when you use the exact example, it fails.

Who is running this thing

Their test environment is live on the app! There’s a big yellow banner that says test system when you’re registering for a username and password. 🤦‍♀️ And of course since I registered on the test system but the login page seems to be from their production system, it won’t take my username and password. Also unable to look up Christmas tree pickup because the app just hangs.

Looks good but can’t submit a report.

I am trying to submit a bulky item pick and there is nowhere to input the date. A request cannot go through without a date... thanks.

Can’t log in using DWP account

Using the iOS version. The app refuses to log in with my DWP account info, even though it says it should be able to. It keeps saying that the username and/ or password does not work (works fine on the DWP mobile site). If I try to register specifically to the 311 app with the email I use with DWP, however, it says that there is already an account with that email. The “forgot password” option is supposedly not available on the app as this time, so this app is pretty much useless to me. Hopefully there are DEVs out there that can fix this in the future

Great way to make a difference

Stop complaining that the city and it’s bureaucrats and politicians don’t do anything! You can use this app to report all kinds of public nuisances, and be completely amazed when things get fixed in less than a week. I have great success reporting potholes, tags, and badly parked scooters. Scooters will be picked up in hours, tags and potholes within a week. Now, if we could only dial in an option for parking enforcement. With the camera and geolocation built in, all the information parking enforcement needs is right there in the app, but for some reason, we still have to call in, and wait for an operator, to report someone blocking a driveway.

Can I report the app to be fixed?

This app is just okay. If the city would go out and let someone professionally work on it, this app could be amazing and incredibly helpful to cleaning up and fixing issues in this city. I have gotten a handful of things taken care of over the last year that I’ve reported but the map is a mess and sometimes it’s just a nightmare to pinpoint the location that need aid. The best results I’ve had with this app are for trash pickup. And there are plenty of requests to be made with the massive heaps of trash all over this city because apparently the city of Los Angeles is one giant dumpster to its inhabitants.
Launch Services
macOS Launch Services is an API that enables a running app to open other apps or their document files, similar to the Finder or the Dock.Launch Services eliminates apps having to query the Finder to open an app, document, or URL for them. The macOS Finder itself uses Launch Services to perform such tasks. Because the Finder performs no additional processing beyond calling Launch Services, any client using Launch Services for these purposes behaves identically to the Finder.

You use the classes and protocols in this framework to configure and schedule the delivery of location and heading events. You can also use it to define geographic regions and monitor when the user crosses the boundaries of those regions. In iOS, you can also define a region around a Bluetooth beacon.
UIKit
