Description:

Common Sense Media helps your family make great media choices! We offer the biggest most-trusted library of age-appropriate ratings and reviews for movies, games, apps, TV shows, and books your kids will love.

With the Common Sense Media app, you can search our entire library of 25,000 ratings and reviews in the palm of your hand--and you can personalize recommendations just for your kids!

Create profiles for your kids to personalize your search, and discover fun learning apps, recommended movies, and inspiring books to help your child thrive.

Plus, get movie showtimes and download products directly from iTunes, right from our review. (Please note that this feature requires enabling location detection; for this reason our app is not for kids under 13.)

Key features:

• Detailed reviews give you critical information, including amount of violence, sex, bad language, positive role models, and much more.

• Want a second opinion? See reviews and ratings from other parents and kids too.

• "Picks for My Kids" allows you to create profiles for each of your kids and personalize your search for age-appropriate movies, games, TV shows, and more.

• “Best Lists” are hand-picked lists from our editors to help you discover the very best media for your kids.

• "Families Can Talk About” feature gives you conversation starters to talk to your kids about what they are watching, playing, and reading.

• “Get Showtimes” allows you to search for movies in nearby theaters without leaving the app.

• Watch video reviews and trailers for top movie releases.

• Save reviews as favorites or share with friends on Facebook or Twitter.

• Get notifications when new reviews are posted.

• Available for iPhone and iPad.

Note: you cannot view actual media in our app (except for our video reviews), though we do offer iTunes and Amazon links.

Incredibly useful

I have found this app extremely valuable when checking the appropriateness of a show or movie my kids want to watch. They also rate video games. I love how specific their ratings are for different content like violence, sex, consumerism, positive messages, etc

Great, but...

Overall this is our family go to media reviewer app and site. Some media (movies/TV) is missing. Can't have everything. I can share a review on social media platforms. One thing I wish the app would allow me to do is to text message a link to a review.

My go-to app for suitable movies for my daughter

This app (& web-site) are a fantastic resource for parents, or anyone wanting information on what's suitable for specific age groups. So far every review of a movie etc has been spot on.

I use it all the time.

I never write reviews for apps, but as I was using Kids Media for the hundredth time today I was compelled to rate it. With the overwhelming amount of media out there today for our kids, there is no way for me to preview everything for content. This app has helped me in two major ways: 1) finding out if a certain show, movie, app or book is age-appropriate and explaining why. 2) searching for media when we'd like suggestions on what to try. Every parent should have this easy to use app.

Super helpful

Kids Media is a great app for gauging the appropriateness of all sorts of media for kids. It's been pretty spot on in my view.
Launch Services
macOS Launch Services is an API that enables a running app to open other apps or their document files, similar to the Finder or the Dock.Launch Services eliminates apps having to query the Finder to open an app, document, or URL for them. The macOS Finder itself uses Launch Services to perform such tasks. Because the Finder performs no additional processing beyond calling Launch Services, any client using Launch Services for these purposes behaves identically to the Finder.

Core Foundation Framework
Core Foundation is a framework that provides fundamental software services useful to application services, application environments, and to applications themselves. Core Foundation also provides abstractions for common data types, facilitates internationalization with Unicode string storage, and offers a suite of utilities such as plug-in support, XML property lists, URL resource access, and preferences.
Core Graphics
The Core Graphics framework is based on the Quartz advanced drawing engine. It provides low-level, lightweight 2D rendering with unmatched output fidelity. You use this framework to handle path-based drawing, transformations, color management, offscreen rendering, patterns, gradients and shadings, image data management, image creation, and image masking, as well as PDF document creation, display, and parsing.
Foundation Framework
The Foundation framework provides a base layer of functionality for apps and frameworks, including data storage and persistence, text processing, date and time calculations, sorting and filtering, and networking. Core Location Framework
The Core Location framework lets you determine the current location or heading associated with a device. The framework uses the available hardware to determine the user’s position and heading. You use the classes and protocols in this framework to configure and schedule the delivery of location and heading events. You can also use it to define geographic regions and monitor when the user crosses the boundaries of those regions. In iOS, you can also define a region around a Bluetooth beacon.
UIKit
The UIKit framework (UIKit.framework) provides the crucial infrastructure needed to construct and manage iOS apps. This framework provides the window and view architecture needed to manage an app’s user interface, the event handling infrastructure needed to respond to user input, and the app model needed to drive the main run loop and interact with the system.
