Competenz helps Kiwis build skills, careers and businesses. We develop national qualifications and make it easy to learn on the job. Competenz is a multi-sector industry training organisation (ITO). We look after the training needs of the Communications and Media, Engineering, Food and Beverage, Forestry, Manufacturing, Plastics and Materials Manufacturing, Trades and Transport industries. Every year, we help create a more skilled New Zealand, working with more than 3,500 organisations and helping more than 20,000 people develop their skills on the job. What we do: ¥ Provide leadership for industry around training needs and issues ¥ Consult with industry about their training needs ¥ Decide what skills people working in our industries need ¥ Develop the qualifications to test these skills ¥ Write and produce manuals and training materials ¥ Contract training providers to deliver training ¥ Assess the level of skill reached ¥ Quality assure the standard of training through moderation
