Unpredictable time slot, inexperienced movers, and broke a piece off of my equipment

I was extremely unhappy with Dolly Movers. It took them almost 24 hours to nail down a time and just assigned me a time slot without confirming that this time was convenient for both parties. In addition to this, the helper showed up in a different vehicle than what was in the picture that was sent to me. When they arrived to drop off the elliptical, the lead helper told me very nonchalantly that they broke off a piece of the elliptical when they picked it up and I could “just Gorilla glue it back on”. The assistant could not even lift the elliptical and they proceeded to just bounce it down out basement stairs. When I confronted the guy about this, his response was “we are insured, I’m just a worker, you can call the company”. I have texted, called, and emailed Dolly Movers and have yet to get a response yet.

Not reliable

My first experience with Dolly was marvelous. Second experience, terrible. Moving produces enough stress as is and Dolly only added more to it. I booked helpers more than a week in advance. As it approached move day, no movers were confirmed. Two days before, still nothing. One day before, nope. Morning of, no. Within two hours? Still nothing. And as incredibly frustrating as that was, throughout this entire time they had multiple customer service reps assuring me (through phone call, their text notifications, and via email) NOT to panic and that movers would be booked. I live in a large city they said, there would be no trouble! I used TaskRabbit and got movers confirmed within 10 minutes and for less of a cost. I won't be using Dolly ever again after experiencing this.
