…ugh

this is the weirdest app…i think i hate it. the controls in the app are inconsistent with the controls on the thermostat itself…ex: the app only allows me to turn the hvac fan on or off, but the thermostat allows my to turn on the hvac fan for 15/30/45/etc minutes. i don’t understand the lack of uniformity in user experience between app and hardware. the ecobee website has a world of additional settings and features that just don’t appear in the app or on the thermostat…so it’s like, why even? i mean, i can’t imagine that most folks would log into the website, they’re going to use the app or thermostat itself. just inconsistent to the point where it feels like it’s all an afterthought the schedule configuration is just confusing to me, i have yet to successfully configure the precise times that i want a specific temperature change to occur on a specific day of the week…i truly have no certain idea when the hvac will run…i’ve given up and now it essentially just does it’s thing keeping the house between a range all day every day…the old school gold-looking round analog thermostats from like the 1970s could do that. my previous filtrete thermostat that i installed 8-9yrs ago was significantly easier to use reliably…the app had a great slider for each day so that you could set several temperature changes for each day…it was super intuitive. i wish there were at least siri shortcut support so that i could just have the hvac fan run at will with only siri interactions.

Barely functioning app

Update. It just keeps getting worse. It shouldn’t matter my model number or mobile. The APP doesn’t work. Period. If it’s a model number then fix the app to work with ALL models. This app does NOT work more than it does. Whether it’s freezing or crashing or not notifying... it’s a mess. I keep hoping the next update will make it even slightly better but it’s staying solidly at internet explorer level.

Stop updating your App….

Stop updating you app until you can get it right. I shouldn’t have to reboot my phone after every update to get the widget to work again. For real.!

Please refresh at start up

I don’t know why the app doesn’t refresh when you open it. So simple. Sometimes I have to refresh twice or three times. Please fix this. It also shows that the thermostat is “offline” eaaaach time I open it. I have to wait until it refreshes or decides to read it. It’s not a wifi issue. This never happened before.

No Fan Hold functionality in app

There’s no Fan Hold functionality in the app but only available in the thermostat. It’s really annoying that I have to go to the thermostat to set a timed fan hold.
