SFMOMA expanded the museum to provide a better experience for our visitors and a better home for our expanding collections, including the SFMOMA collection and the Fisher Collection, one of the finest collections of contemporary art in the world. The new SFMOMA, designed in collaboration with the architecture firm SnÀhetta, opened May 2016. With this project, we are transforming not just the museum's physical presence, but also our contributions to the community, enhancing SFMOMA's role as a place for learning, inspiration, and interaction for visitors from the Bay Area and beyond. Immersive Walks: Experience a new breed of guided narratives that take you through the galleries and out onto the streets of San Francisco. These 15–45 minute Immersive Walks feature a range of fascinating hosts, including high-wire walker Philippe Petit, Avery Trufelman from the 99% Invisible podcast, members of the SF Giants organization, and comedians from HBO’s Silicon Valley.
Museum highlights: Choose from our picks of things to see, hear, and do; hundreds of snack-sized (60-90 second) audio reflections and responses to artworks in the galleries, featuring composers, comedians, artists, playwrights, aerial dancers, pagan ministers and many more.
What’s on the Museum: Exhibitions, events, cafes, artists-in-residence, interpretive spaces and other activities.

STREAMING
Download the app, and stream content, on SFMOMA's Free Public WiFi when you visit.

Working together, SFMOMA and Detour have developed one of the first mobile experiences that combines indoor positioning with outstanding narrative content. With synced audio that allows social listening, you and your friends will experience SFMOMA, its art, and the world like never before.

App Needs Fine Tuning

The "Not a member? Join now." link does not work. Haven't used the rest of the app yet, but I will after I go online, purchase the membership and attend the museum later today.

Good try, you can do better MOMA

This is just a confusing app. No one wants to spend time checking your app out, we just want to hear the audio tour of the exhibitions. Make it easier to do that. Do some user testing FFS.

Core Location Framework

You can also use it to define geographic regions and monitor when the user crosses the boundaries of those regions. In iOS, you can also define a region around a Bluetooth beacon.
Foundation Framework
The Foundation framework provides a base layer of functionality for apps and frameworks, including data storage and persistence, text processing, date and time calculations, sorting and filtering, and networking. The classes, protocols, and data types defined by Foundation are used throughout the macOS, iOS, watchOS, and tvOS SDKs.
Launch Services
macOS Launch Services is an API that enables a running app to open other apps or their document files, similar to the Finder or the Dock.Launch Services eliminates apps having to query the Finder to open an app, document, or URL for them.
